Louisiana Pacific

LP was our first client. The project was to create a database reporting tool that could do the following:

Record and save input data from forms into a database.
Load data from the database into the forms.
Load the data into Excel templates which could then be printed in a nice format.
Email the Excel templates at the click of a button.
Generate customized reports from the database by checking options on a form.

Operating System Kernel	September 2006 - December 2006
Problem: Develop a simple operating system. Solution: Created an operating system with memory management, process management, system call interfaces, interrupt handling, singnaling, semaphone synchronization, and device management. Technology: C/C++
Distributed Collaborative Application	September 2006 - December 2006
Problem: Develop a collaborative file editing and chatroom application. Solution: Designed a user interface for logging in, editing files, and chatting. Developed the logic to create and connect to chatrooms. Technology: Java, Swing, SQL
Automated FedEx Shipping Application	June 2006 - July 2006
Problem: Automate the company's shipping procedure and eliminate manual shipment and data entry. Solution: User interface for package details; automatically contacted FedEx server; saved reults in a database. Technology: SQL database, C/C++
Firewire Camera Message Logging	March 2006 - April 2006
Problem: Record and display technical information from firewire cameras. Solution: User interface to select and display results; recorded image retrievals, device removals, etc. Technology: C/C++
MIPS Ultra-Lite Processor	October 2004 - December 2004
Problem: Develop a prototype computer processor (CPU). Solution: Designed and developed a functional CPU with memory, register file, ALU, and state control that could add, subtract, and compare. Technology: VHDL, Altera Quartus, Altera Cyclone FPGA
